OUR MISSION

Shabbat Walk is here to provide support and assistance to those in need in our community. Our dedicated young volunteers learn to lead and give as they provide help to individuals and families with various needs. We help families of single parents, new babies, special needs children and individuals struggling with disabilities or mental health challenges. We also support those with ill health, and the elderly. We provide home and hospital visits, respite and activities, as well as practical support, to relieve loneliness and change lives for the better.
How can we help you today?

TESTIMONIALS

“Just wanted to mention that …. came on Shabbos afternoon in the pouring rain. I cannot begin to describe to you the feelings that went through me and my husband when she walked in the door. Shabbos is particularly challenging with ….. at the best of times as we cannot do a lot of the activities we would usually do during the week she gets really frustrated and bored quickly and needs a constant change of activity and people all the time. When it rains it’s a million times more difficult. I know it was probably a challenging visit for …. but I just want her to know, for me it was a time out where I could regroup gather the physical, emotional and mental energy to get back in the game and finish up the day in one piece. Thank you to all of you at the Shabbos Walk who make all our lives that bit more manageable and enable us plow on knowing that we at various points there will be people to help us out.”

“The residents are amazing, they are so nice, they teach us valuable life lessons, they really treat you as if you were their grandchildren. We love singing to them and they sing along. We end up leaving with a smile on both our faces.”
